LZ's Time Machine Volume 6 Wrap Up
Hey there, listeners! I just wanted to do a small write up to keep everyone in the loop. If you listen week to week, you may notice that there are some weeks where there are shows, and others when there isn’t one at all, and that’s for a reason. I appreciate all of the support and kind words that I’ve gotten from my listeners; you all truly keep me going strong. Unfortunately, life gets in the way sometimes, and as of late my work and personal lives have been hectic. I’ve decided to take a small break from producing weekly shows for the time being. I’m hoping the break will only be for a couple of weeks so I have some time to recuperate a bit in order to discover some new music and create some fresh playlists that I’m proud of putting out there for you to enjoy. I hope to see you all again after the break before we get into the full swing of summer. But for now, here’s a little bit of music news you might have missed in the past couple of weeks:
On Monday, 5/20: “Gacked On Anger” by Amyl and The Sniffers was released off of their self-titled debut album which came out on Friday, 5/24. Jumping to that Friday, we saw “Bags” by Clairo get released as well. On Saturday, 5/25 came the announcement of Pipe-eye’s next album, Inside/Outside that will be out on June 7th. On the following day, the title track of that very same album was released.
Looking at this past week on Tuesday we got “Self-Immolate” from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, more or less confirming that their next album will be a heavy metal/thrash rock-like album, with influences such as Black Sabbath or Metallica playing a large roll in its creation. On Wednesday Sleater-Kinney returned with their track “Hurry On Home,” their first new single since their 2015 album “No Cities to Love.” Also returning from a short hiatus reaching back to 2015, Sufjan Stevens released a pair of singles “Love Yourself” with the b-side “With My Whole Heart”. Also on Wednesday, Crumb released another track from their upcoming album “Jinx”, titled “Fall Down.” To wrap up the week on Friday, the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets released their third album titled “And Now for the Whatchamacallit.” And for some rumored news, Temples released a teaser for a new, unnamed track, with the only clue being that it’ll be released on June 5th, so there’s something I’m looking forward to a lot.
Here’s hoping that we all can take some time to relax and find some new tunes to listen to while I’m on my break. I look forward to coming back soon with some new playlists for you all!
